Complemented by a large network of partners
CSEM’s skills and technologies are complemented by those of our partner research centers, federal institutes of technology, universities, and universities of applied sciences. We work in close collaboration with these highly regarded institutions to provide our industrial partners with customized technology solutions.
2021 was a very fruitful year in terms of collaboration between CSEM and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Exchanges between doctoral students, shared research projects, joint activities in photovoltaics, and the creation of a joint center for additive manufacturing were just few of the benefits this collaboration generated.
In Villigen on 25 November meanwhile, CSEM— alongside the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa)—held its 10th annual conference pitched at SMEs and demonstrating and promoting the potential of these three Swiss research centers working in the field of additive manufacturing. Beginning in 2011, the three centers have often joined forces, illustrating their desire to collaborate.
Over the years, CSEM has also established close bonds with a number of Swiss university hospitals, allowing us to develop and validate new technologies in personalized digital health. In 2021, via a collaboration with Campus Biotech in Geneva and the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering (based at the same facility), our knowledge contributed to the successful outcome of a project on preventing epileptic seizures.
